Industry sources say that 66% of men are choosing suits or more casual wear over formal tuxedos for their wedding nuptials. The biggest style trends for grooms in 2020 are:
Suits
Traditional colors like navy, gray or black are still popular among grooms. However, if you’re a groom who wants to be different or get a little edgy, this year’s fashion brings on a host of new colors.
Pink is a trendy this year. A dusky pink suit can be paired with pink bridesmaid dresses. The color pink is for the confident man who wants to break the norm.
Jewel colors like emerald green, teal or burgundy are also trendy this year. These bright, bold colors are for the man who wants to be modern but trendy.
Velvet is making a come back. Pairing a jeweled color velvet blazer with black pants gives a classic but chic look.
Tweed is perfect for a late fall or winter wedding. Tweed is a bold and classic look. A tweed suit says you are the perfect gentleman.
One of the biggest style trends in suites for 2020 is the double-breasted blazer and pinstripes. Both are classics. Choosing to wear a pinstriped double-breasted suit will make you look like you walked out of The Godfather movie with a hint of bad boy.
Ties
Traditional solid color ties are still in but … if you want to be a rebel … choose a tie with more style. Go with a bold pattern or a bold color. Shoes
Loafers are classic and they’ve been worn at weddings for a few years now. A nice soft loafer is much more comfortable than a dress shoe. Loafers also go with the growing trend of not wearing socks. That’s right, many grooms are choosing to flash their ankles!
2020 has introduced some new trends in fashion for grooms. From colors to textures, this year, grooms have more of a choice from the traditional wardrobe of the past. Don’t worry though, the traditional suit and tux are still in. The most important trend of 2020 for the groom is whatever style you pick, just be yourself.
