Afternoon Tea at Historic Oakland

We would be inclined to agree. So many hours in the day are spent on the telephone or in meetings or at the computer, rather than face-to-face with one another. Perhaps your next "face-to-face" could be during Afternoon Tea at Oakland. 

Oakland's glorious ballroom sparkles in the afternoon sun, and with the changing seasons, warmth and welcome are your hosts. Afternoon Tea originated (so it's said) in early 19th century England when Anna, the Duchess of Bedford, summoned her kitchen staff to prepare a light repast of sandwiches and pastries served with tea. The Duchess began inviting friends to share the occasion, and the ritual of good food and good conversation evolved. 

Whether you are meeting a friend or entertaining a client, Afternoon Tea at Oakland may just be the perfect spot to do so! A two-course repast, is served to you in Oakland's relaxed and elegant style. The 1811 mansion has been lovingly restored by the Columbia Association to reflect the value of preserving the past in the midst of contemporary society. 

You may wish to hold a meeting or special celebration in a separate room during Tea. We will be happy to accommodate your needs. While reservations are required, we do take major credit cards, cash and checks. Gift certificates, too, can be purchased ahead of time or at the door.
