Afternoon Tea

Whether you are meeting a friend or entertaining a client, Afternoon Tea at Oakland may just be the perfect spot to do so! A two-course repast, catered by The Tea Trolley www.tea-trolley.com is served to you in Oakland's relaxed and elegant style one Thursday a month**. The 1811 mansion has been lovingly restored by the Columbia Association to reflect the value of preserving the past in the midst of contemporary society.
The cost is $20.00 per person (tax included). While reservations are required, we do take major credit cards, cash and checks. Gift certificates, too, can be purchased ahead of time or at the door.

Oakland Nights

Oakland Nights Music Series is the place to unwind, visit, and enjoy a cup of coffee, featuring local musicians in an informal atmosphere. Join us in the elegant ballroom of Historic Oakland, at 5430 Vantage Point Road, Columbia, Maryland. This is a FREE event (donation for the performers encouraged).

Musicians interested in performing during the "Oakland Nights" fourth season, beginning September 2008, should contact Patricia Loeber at tcstaff@columbiavillages.org or 410-730-4744.

Parents & Tots Play Groups

The Town Center Community Association is currently accepting registration for the Fall Mini 2007(4 weeks) and Winter 2008 Sessions of Parents & Tots PLAY GROUPS. The play groups are as follows: Tuesdays, children 6 months to 4 years; Wednesdays, children 6 months to 24 months; and Thursdays, children 6 months to 4 years. Groups meet from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and run for 10 weeks. Each group is limited to approximately 15 tots. Juice will be provided.
Play Groups meet weekly at Historic Oakland, 5430 Vantage Point Road, Columbia. The fee per child is $25.00 for Columbia residents and $27.50 for non-Columbia residents. Siblings can enroll for half price.
Classes fill rapidly, so please call the Town Center Community Association at 410-730-4744 to register.

 


Holiday Craft Fair

Don’t miss Oakland’s fifth annual Holiday Craft Fair, on Sunday, December 6, 2009, from 12:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. at Historic Oakland, 5430 Vantage Point Road, Columbia, Maryland. The 19th century charm of Oakland manor is an ideal setting for this event. Enjoy cider and cookies while strolling through the manor in search of beautiful hand-crafted gifts. Juried.

Non-perishable food donations for Grassroots will be collected at this event.

The Town Center Community Association will host a Bridal Showcase at Historic Oakland on Sunday, April 11, 2010, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Vendors from the Baltimore/Washington area will be on hand to display their specialties. The cost is $10.00 for advance ticket purchase and $15.00 for tickets purchased at the door. Sample some of the finest caterers’ food, enjoy delightful music, and start planning your special day with floral designers, photographers, and see the latest in bridal/formal wear.
